Lotte Kopecky came, saw and conquered. After already winning both events at Kuipke on Friday, she treated the enthusiastic audience on Saturday to a double encore.
Ooooh, Lotte Kopecky! Ooooh, Lotte Kopecky! When she entered Kuipke, the Road World Champion was already treated to a standing ovation. After that, the World Champion’s name echoed through the stands several times.
Kopecky did not disappoint the audience. In the first event, the individual elimination, we had a Belgian showdown between Hélène Hesters and Lotte Kopecky. As on Friday, Lotte Kopecky was the strongest in this event.
In the points race, the second event of the night, Lotte Kopecky once again showed her supremacy. She racked up 41 points, Britain’s Lucy Nelson 15 points and the Netherlands’ Lisa van Belle 14 points.
The audience had enjoyed themselves and waved Kopecky off with thunderous applause one last time.
