This weekend, Amy’s Granfondo will serve as a crucial testing ground for the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, attracting a massive field of 4050 riders, representing 10 different countries.
The event, which has been a cornerstone of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series since 2011, offers riders a unique opportunity to qualify for the World Championship on home soil and experience firsthand the challenging courses that will be used next year.
The 122km Granfondo route begins with a difficult ascent up Benwerrin, a 11.2km climb reaching 445 meters in elevation. Following a flat section, riders will face the Mount Sabine climb, peaking at 555 meters after 56.7km. The final 40km stretch will take riders along the scenic Great Ocean Road back to Lorne.
For the 2025 World Championships, the course will be extended to 131km for all categories, incorporating an additional loop to Birregurra on a fully closed circuit. As part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships program, the event will also feature a time trial and team relay, with a 22.8km course along the Great Ocean Road north of Lorne.
