Bruno Kessler and Benjamin Boos are well on their way to winning the U23 AVS Cup. After five days at Kuipke, they totalled 100 points on Saturday night.
Three couples follow at two laps, they are Stan Dens/Renzo Raes (68 points), Thor Feyaerts/Witse Bertels (62 points) and Danish-Dutch pair Peter Bheki Laursen/Joeri Schaper (35 points). The rest of the field of competitors in Ghent follows at three or more laps.
Kessler and Boos went into the fifth evening on Saturday as leaders and the first points to be won in the second Madison of the U23 AVS Cup again went to the Germans, who nicely continued that thread throughout the event. They also managed to foist a lap on their closest competitors again.
Davide Stella and Ares Costa took the 500-metre time trial. Kessler and Boos finished second in that event ahead of Dens and Raes.
