Duo Van den Bossche – Thomas have won the 2024 Lotto Zesdaagse Vlaanderen-Gent. In a thrilling final race, they left the winners of the past two editions De Vylder – Ghys behind them. Hesters and Gate finished third. Just before the prize-giving ceremony, Lotto announced that it would remain title partner of the Lotto Six-Days for the next three years as well. Ticket sales for next year’s edition will open on Monday at 10am.
With two couples on the same lap and two on one lap after the penultimate day, Sunday was going to decide this 83rd edition of the Lotto Zesdaagse Vlaanderen-Ghent. De Vylder – Ghys and Van den Bossche – Thomas gathered enough points in the first races to make up the lap difference. The final Madison would be the decider.
Taking turns, the potential winners took bonus laps, but 15 laps from the end, Van den Bossche and Thomas made the ultimate attack, which gave them another bonus lap and the overall victory. With the gold and bronze Olympic medallists in the omnium, this Lotto Zesdaagse Vlaanderen-Ghent has a dream winner at the end of an Olympic year.
Among the women, Lotte Kopecky came, saw and conquered. The figurehead of Belgian women’s cycling won both the elimination, and the points race on Friday and Saturday. A full house for a full house, as Kopecky made the packed Kuipke explode several times. The AVS Cup (the U23 competition) went to the German duo Bruno Kessler – Benjamin Boos. In the G-sport, Ewoud Vromant was better than his British opponents several times.

Lotto extends for another three years
The partnership between the National Lottery and the Six Days is renewed again for the next three years, so for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 editions. The National Lottery wants to put additional emphasis on the development of women’s cycling. In addition, the event continues to promote inclusion with initiatives targeting Special Olympics athletes and adapted sports, raising the profile of athletes from all backgrounds.
“The Six Days of Ghent is not just another sports event; it truly is a symbol of Belgian culture and identity. By renewing our partnership, we confirm our mission to unite Belgians around connecting events that exude pride and strong values. This commitment fits perfectly with our vision of a more united, inclusive and forward-looking society,” said Jannie Haek, CEO of the National Lottery of Belgium.
Christophe Impens of Golazo: “The Ghent Six Days is an event that Golazo cherishes enormously. The history, the inimitable ambiance, a packed Kuipke, the strong field of participants, they make this event so unique. But without a strong and loyal name sponsor like Lotto, we would never be able to organise it in the same way. We are very pleased that the National Lottery has extended its long-standing commitment for another three years. Together with them, we remain committed to absolute top-class sport and to an inclusive and fun event where everyone feels welcome and at home.”
